The purpose of this study was to explore organizational factors related to maltreatment in early childhood education and care facilities. We conducted an online survey of 200 kindergartens or nurseries workers (56 men, 144 women, average age 41.84 years) regarding “maltreatment”, “teamwork” that meant harmony in the organization, and “openness of the organization”. As a result of analysis of variance with “teamwork” and “openness” as independent variables, and “maltreatment” as a dependent variable, a significant main effect of “teamwork” was detected. It suggested that higher teamwork produced lower maltreatment.
