<dc:description>In the present study, we aimed to clarify how different frequencies of stretching impact improvement in flexibility. The subjects were 10 male university students who were asked to perform 4 different kinds of shoulder joint stretches. Stretching was done either for one week, once daily (once-daily group), or ten times daily (ten-times-daily group) or was not done at all (control group), and these 3 different conditions were compared for the change in flexibility before and after implementing the stretching. Flexibility was assessed by means of the 4 types of stretches. When each group's flexibility value before stretching and after stretching was compared, the once-daily group and the ten-times-daily group showed a significant increase in their values, and a tendency for flexibility to increase was observed. When the amount of change in flexibility was compared between each of the groups, a significantly higher value was noted in the once-daily group and the ten-times-daily group, in comparison to the control group. In addition, the ten-times-daily group showed a significantly higher value than the once-daily group, demonstrating that a higher frequency of stretching leads to a more pronounced increase in flexibility.</dc:description>
