We surveyed a detached housing area built in the 1950s in Yokohama City. The main results are as follows : 1) The housing land subdivision has progressed in this housing area, and so small scale lots have increased than before ; 2) Most of new dwellers in this area live in these small scale lots. They are younger families from neighborhood, and want to move out because they aren't satisfied with comfortableness of their small lots and houses ; 3) The old-time dwellers live in large lots and most of them are households consisting of a single elderly person or elderly couple.
