内容記述 | On this study, we focused attention on the new physical performance test, Sit-and-Reach measurement, performed since 1999, stipulated by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. We made a hypothesis that records of Sit-and-Reach would have large influences from physical constitution, especially body height. As a result of this study from records for four age groups, 15 preschoolers (age 5 -6), 40 fourth grade primary school students (age 9 -10), 58 third grade junior high students (age 14 -15) and 17 University students (age 19 -20), we have gotten conclusions as belows. 1. Records of Sit-and-Reach measurement from higher age group showed the higher average values. 2. By comparing records of Sit-and-Reach, significant differences were recognized for all age groups. 3. By studying all the records of preschoolers, primary school students, junior high students and University students at the same time, it was recognized that there was a significant correlation between body height and records of Sit-and-Reach. 4. By studying records of each age group, it was recognized in preschoolers that there was a significant correlation between body height and records of Sit-and-Reach. 5. Significant correlations between body height and records of Sit-and-Reach were not recognized in primary school students, junior high students and University students. 6. Sit-and-Reach as a body-flexibility measuring method was considered valid and reasonable for age groups defined by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. |
