| 内容記述 | This study aimed to examine what the contents of “the way” in karatedo, judo and kendo are and what needs to be taught in classes of PE through analyzing the developmental process of these martial arts from the past to the present and examining the future direction. The results showed that karatedo, judo and kendo have all been spread internationally. Karatedo and judo have been spread as international sports, but kendo has been taking a stance of not changing it as a sport but maintaining it as a Japanese culture based on the spirits of bushido. The results also showed that no matter how each martial art is spread to outside of Japan, these Japanese martial arts commonly at practitioners’ character building as the biggest and most important goal through training waza, body and mind. In conclusions, as the contents of “the way” that students are encouraged to learn in classes of karatedo, judo and kendo, a respectful mind, self-control, an attitude to growing up together with sympathy and a spirit of pursuing justice were suggested. | |||||
