内容記述 | This article reports cooperative content-based instruction (C-CBI) of English language teacher education (ELTE) to university students (n = 15) in Japan, looking into its effects on their beliefs in cooperation, intrinsic motivation in ELTE, psychological needs, and English use. The 90-minute course was given weekly in the 2018 spring semester, and its effects were examined in a mixed-method using a 6-point-Likert questionnaire (k = 40) and the students’ journal description of English use. The surveys were performed at the beginning and end of the course and were then compared. As a result, it was mainly shown that: (a) the students became more cooperative with less individual orientation; (b) they particularly boosted their intrinsic motivation for speaking and need for relatedness; and (c) their English use was developed through the negative, burgeoning, and positive stages. | |||||
