内容記述 | This study conducted the analysis and evaluation of PE kendo classes in a junior high school. In these classes, students were encouraged to structure the knowledge of common points in favour in each situation and apply them into their practices; how opportunities to attack are created by using nidan-nowaza, and through what process a valid strike is achieved. The subjects were 89 junior high school firstyear students (age 12-13) who learned kendo for the first time in one unit of nine classes. In this unit, the students were first to learn basic striking actions and nidan-no-waza such as men-do and kote-men before learning these common points mentioned above. The results of quantitative text analysis showed that the students kept the structured knowledge in their mind when participating in free practices and matches and also they could all apply what they had learnt to creating their own way of attacking. The results of questionnaire survey showed highly positive responses from them regardless of gender on a sense of accomplishment in free practices and matches as well as feeling enjoyment and working hard towards their own tasks in collaboration with others through the unit. Based on the results above, it can be said that the classes planned and practised in this study are effective for students who are beginners in kendo in the development of their knowledge for attacking while making them have sense of achievement, enjoy in learning and work hard in collaboration. |
